Groups and invites

How do I join my group?

Open the invite link your organiser sent you (from WhatsApp is fine), or scan their QR code with the iPhone Camera. Cuatr opens and you're in.

If the link doesn't open the app: copy it, then in Cuatr go to Group → Join with a link. Cuatr fills in the link from your clipboard; tap Join.

You need to be signed in to iCloud on your iPhone (Settings → [your name]), because groups are shared through Apple's iCloud sharing.

How do I invite people?

Only the group's owner can invite. Open your group, tap Invite, then:

  • Invite people picks people from your contacts with Apple's sharing sheet. They tap the link and they're in.
  • Link & QR turns on a link anyone can join with, and shows a QR code. Turn it off any time, for example once everyone's in.
“Couldn't join the group”. What now?
  • Check you're signed in to iCloud, and that Cuatr is allowed to use iCloud in Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
  • Ask the owner whether the link is still on, or for a fresh invite.
  • Check your connection, then try the link again.
How do I remove someone, leave, or delete a group?

Group → settings (gear). Members tap Leave group. The owner can tap Delete group, which deletes it for everyone. To remove a person, the owner opens Invite → Invite people and removes them in Apple's sharing sheet. Organisers can remove a guest from a match.

Matches and the waitlist

How does the waitlist work?

A match has four slots. Once they're full, anyone else who taps in joins the waitlist. If someone can't make it, the first person in the queue moves up automatically and gets a “You're in” notification.

Can I add a friend who isn't on Cuatr?

Yes. The organiser can add a guest by name to a match or a night. Add someone only if they're fine with their name being in the group.

How do weekly matches work?

Set a match to repeat every week. When this week's match starts, next week's appears with the organiser already in. Players tap in again each week. “Stop repeating weekly” ends the series.

Live score

The other phones on court don't update

Cuatr sends each point straight to the other phones on court over your local network. Allow it when iOS asks, or turn it on in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → Cuatr. Everyone needs the match's live screen open.

Without local network access, the score still reaches everyone through iCloud, just not as directly. Group members who aren't on court follow through iCloud while they have the live screen open.

What's “the pen”?

One person scores at a time, so no point is counted twice. Whoever has the pen scores; anyone else can tap “Take the pen” to take over. If points arrive from someone who'd just handed over, the new scorer chooses to keep or drop them.

How do I undo a point?

On iPhone, tap the undo button at the top left of the scorer. On Apple Watch, turn the Digital Crown back or swipe down. There are no confirmation dialogs mid-rally.

Golden point, tie-break, super tie-break?

Each match uses advantage or golden point (one deciding point at 40–40), a tie-break at 6–6, and optionally a super tie-break to 10 instead of a third set. The organiser sets these on the match.

Apple Watch

How do I score on my Watch?

Open the match's live screen on your iPhone (Start scoring), then open Cuatr on your Watch. “Us” is the top half, “Them” the bottom. Tap a half to give that side the point. You feel a haptic for each point, game and set.

Your iPhone can stay in your bag. If the Watch loses the phone for a moment, it keeps your points and sends them when the phone is back. For a casual game without a group, use Quick match on the Watch.

How do I undo on the Watch?

Turn the Digital Crown back, or swipe down. Hold the screen for a moment and the Watch speaks the score. You can also turn on Double tap: point to Us in the Watch app's settings.

Do I need to allow Apple Health?

No, it's optional. If you allow it, each match runs as a workout, which keeps the scorer on screen until the last point, saves the workout to Apple Health and shows your heart rate on the scorer. If you don't, scoring works the same; your Watch may go back to the clock when you lower your wrist.

Health data stays in Apple Health. It never goes to your group, to iCloud through Cuatr, or to us. Change it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Cuatr.

The court fee

How does the split work?

The organiser enters the court fee, and Cuatr divides it by four, rounded up. Everyone ticks “I've paid” themselves, so the organiser sees at a glance who's paid.

Money never moves through the app. The pay button uses the organiser's own details: it opens their PayPal, Revolut or Satispay link, or copies their IBAN, Bizum or MB WAY number so you can pay in your banking app.

Where do I add how people pay me?

Me → Edit → How people pay you. It's used when you organise a match. Admins can also set a group payment shortcut in Group settings, used when the organiser hasn't set their own. Your payment details are visible to the members of your groups, so add them only if you're happy with that.

Americano and Mexicano

How do I run a night?

Nights → New night. Pick the players (4 to 24), the courts, the points per match (16, 21, 24 or 32) and the format. Cuatr makes each round: who plays on which court with whom, keeping repeat partners and opponents to a minimum. Enter each court's score, tap Next round, and the table updates live. At the end, share the podium card.

Americano up to 8 players is free. Mexicano, team Americano and nights of 9 to 24 players need Cuatr Pro or a Night Pass.

Levels and stats

How is my level calculated?

Your Cuatr level runs from 1.0 to 7.0. Six questions when you start give you a first estimate; after that, every scored match moves it, depending on the result and the levels of the four players. It's marked provisional for your first 10 matches, when it moves faster.

It's Cuatr's own estimate. It isn't official and doesn't match the levels of any club, federation or other app. Americano court scores don't change levels; scored matches do. You can retake the questions in Me.

Who can see my level?

The members of your groups. There's no public ranking and no “worst player” list. Your answers to the level questions stay private.

Cuatr Pro and purchases

What's free and what's Pro?

Free: groups, matches and the waitlist, the split, live score on iPhone and Apple Watch, Americano up to 8 players, your level and basic stats.

Cuatr Pro (€3.99 a month, or €24.99 a year with a 3-day free trial): Mexicano and team Americano, nights with 9 to 24 players, your level history, partner chemistry and deep stats, share-card themes without the watermark, and Live Activity customisation.

Night Pass (€3.99, one time): Pro features for one night you organise.

Only the organiser ever needs to pay. Players always join free. The App Store shows the price in your country before you buy.

How do I restore my purchases?

Me → Cuatr Pro → Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with.

How do I cancel Cuatr Pro?

On your iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Cuatr. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app doesn't cancel the subscription. For a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple handles refunds.

Your data

Where is my data?

On your devices and in iCloud. Your profile is in your private iCloud; each group is in its owner's iCloud, shared with its members. Cuatr has no servers, and we can't see it. Details in the privacy policy.

How do I delete my data?

Me → Delete my data → Delete everything. You leave every group, groups you own are deleted for everyone, and your profile is removed from iCloud.

In groups other people own, your past matches stay in their history, marked as having left. To remove your photo and payment details from those groups as well, clear them in Me → Edit first and let it sync, then delete your data. Deleting your data doesn't cancel a subscription.

A match or score doesn't show up on my other devices
  • Check you're online and signed in to the same iCloud account on each device.
  • Check that iCloud has free space; for groups you own, it's your storage that counts.
  • Pull down on This week or on your group to refresh.
